Silk was born Fredericton at New Brunswick Canada. She was the daughter of Peter, an academic, and Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actress and director. She was also a writer, teacher, as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna is able to recall some of her first memories when she was a kid, such as watching her mom work at play rehearsals. Silk made several commercials while she was still a kid. Silk graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least Two early productions: Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in the month of November 1999, to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman was her future partner when she met him in 2007 at an Actors' Workshop at Los Angeles. They were engaged in 2009 and were wed in a civil ceremony ceremony that was held in December. They renewed their vows April 10, 2011 in Fredericton, after the bride was converted to Judaism.
