Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul musician, actor and songwriter. The Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are among the numerous awards she's earned. The singer was also named for an Academy Award. Andra Day, a talented performer-songwriter whose roots are in gospel and the blues with a passion for contemporary music is a strong performer and an incredibly talented song-writer. Her debut album, Cheers to the Fall (2015) She jumped into the Top Ten R&B/hip hop charts and received a handful of Grammy recognitions. In 2017, her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack was also acknowledged with the Academy Award. Andra day has been born Cassandra Monique Batie, in Edmonds Washington. She grew up in San Diego and the metropolitan city. In the area, she performed in churches and enrolled in The School of Creative and Performing Arts. She was drawn to contemporary R&B along with pop and jazz after graduating from school but eventually was drawn back to traditional soul and jazz musicians who she heard about when she was a child. Kai Millard Morris caught her performance and donated some of Day's music to Stevie Wonder. The Motown legend later was able to connect Day with veteran of the music industry Adrian Gurvitz. Day, allied in Gurvitz's Buskin label as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, gained an online audience. Day eventually signed with Warner Bros. It was quickly received by DJs who were able to play it on the radio. She subsequently joined Warner Bros. Records and began working with producer Adrian Gurvitz on the album that she released as her debut, Cheers to the Fall (2015). The album featured the hit single Rise Up which became an anthem for social justice movements across the globe. Day was nominated to win two Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Album. In 2019, she debuted her second studio album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album featuring the life of a legendary jazz vocalist. This year she also appeared in a biopic based on Holiday's life The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Matichak, a native of the United States is an American actress. Her first appearance was on television shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods prior to making her feature film debut in the role of Allyson Nelson in the horror film series Halloween and its sequels. Andi Matichak, an American actress, was born in Framingham in Massachusetts on the 3rd of May 1994.
