Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Sara Ramirez was brought up by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. She began to gain confidence in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. The singer not only gained confidence through the audition, but she also changed plans for her career. When she was 22, she received her degree from at the Julliard School of New York. At the age of 23, her first Broadway show with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail were both her big break. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the part in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater fame. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended play. In her role as an activist, she works tirelessly in the cause of LGBT equality.
